Party at the "DZ"

The Drop Zone; otherwise known as the "DZ" was a happening place last Saturday night.

Our friends Paul & Jenny, that own Skydive SanMarcos, throw a big halloween party every year. They bring in a second plane as well as a hellocopter to help accomidate the larger number of jumpers...... upwards of 1200 jumps on Saturday and then more on Sunday.

It is amazing - like clock-work one plane load after another, non-stop all day long. The last group was just after dark and all in costume. Very cool.

After a small "mis-hap" involving a missing "Josh", the beer drinking began. The party was complete with catered BBQ, 5 kegs of beer, a live band, a bonefire & costume contest.

Skye & Allie got creative with pumpkin carving.

An always smiling "green fairy" psing for the camera.

A little nerd and "Fiona" having a great time.

A famous Australia crock humter even made a guest appearance.

We had a great time, such a great time that we don't have many photos of the actual party though. :(

David & I want to send a special "thank you" to Paul & Jenny for including us! We can't wait until next year!!!

G'Day Downunder

Rumor has it that there are a few folks down in New Zealand that often "check-in" on us here in Texas....

So I wanted to give a special hello to Rene & Ray in Hastings.

Hope things are going well down there. Maybe we will get down to see you one of these days, but until then this will have to do.

Homecoming & Fall Fest

Friday was a busy day... Homecoming at Amanda's school and Fall Fest at Allie's.

David and Allie went to the Fall Fest for dinner, Trunk R Treat & a very "spooky" haunted trailer. They had a lot of fun and spent some good "Daddy, Daughter" time together.

We're on the MLS....

The house went onto the MLS listing on Friday. YEA!

We have had a sign up for a week but were not ready for the MLS listing until last Friday. We had our first showing on Sunday which is great news. We hope the house will sell quickly but understand that today's market it is taking on average 65 days.

Here is the listing - The house actually looks really good. I did not realize how big our yard was until I saw the photos!.

The Cheese Stands Alone

Allie had her 3rd grad play about two weeks ago... I have been so busy I have not found time to blog but here are a few photos of the play.

She had to dress like a farmer. She looked very cute and did a great job. She has always had a speaking part in the past but was happy to be in the chorus this year - as she loves to sing. The entire 3rd grade did a great job.

The Economic Mess

What do you think? Check out this link... Google the info and be informed.

You Tube pulls a popular anti-Democrat video off the web (updated)
C. Edmund Wright
You Tube and Warner Music Group today pulled a highly popular
video that very succinctly and clearly spelled out the roots of the current economic crisis.

The 9:59 video entitled "Burning Down the House: What Caused Our Economic Crisis" played four different songs under a fast moving video sequence that very clearly tied Democrats like Chris Dodd, Franklin Raines, Jim Johnson and Barack Obama to policies and corruption related to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. It cleverly showed how the "affordable mortgage" programs sent an economic virus through the entire economy and showed Republican efforts to intervene and regulate being blocked.

For Obama and all congressional Democrats, it was a devastating video.

The video had almost a perfect viewer rating and had been viewed some 1.2 million times according to the You Tube counters. Sometime around 3:45 EDT the video disappeared with the banner saying "This Video is no longer available due to a copywrite claim by Warner Music Group."

This sounds to me a lot like another front in this war for the country.

Hair Ties

Searching for hair ties is a daily event in my home. I see them everywhere – on the floor by the couch, next the fridge, on the bathroom counter… until I need one that is! When I need one, they are nowhere to be found. I turn this place upside down each morning when doing Allie’s hair hoping to find just one. I really need to look into buying stock in them because we use so many. I am not sure if David just finds them and helps them to the trash or if the manufacture has built in a self-destruction devise that gets activated once they hit the floor. Either way I find at least two packages of them in my Wal-Mart cart each month! Only two packages – not a big deal right? Well I did the math and it is a lot more than you think.
Two packages a month X 12 months X 18 years (which only includes the usage until Amanda is 18) = That is a lot of hair ties - 432 packs actually. At $3.99 a pack I will spend over $1700 on hair ties by the time Amanda turns 18! That does not even include the “special” ones I buy at Christmas with lace or sparkles. I can sure think of a lot better ways to spend $1700.

Sea World

Last Saturday was "Dell Family Day at Sea World San Antonio". We have been to Fiesta Texas the past three years so the girls were excited to go to Sea World this year. Paul & Jenny, Markus and one other couple - Nick & Melissa come along as well. All with kids in tow.

Jen, Sharon & Paul

Paul & Dave

We stayed at an RV park right next to the park that had a shuttle. It was nice to get dropped off and picked up right at the door!

Amanda, Emily & Jack immediately went off to ride rides so I don’t have any photos of them. L But they did have fun – and that is what it is all about. Sea World has a few roller coasters but nothing like Fiesta Texas. They did watch the Shamu show and one or two others – on my strict instructions of course. I told them “You can’t go to Sea World and not the animals!”

Allie & Skye

How Sweet!

We are very lucky to have met great people that have similar interest and kids around the same ages as ours. We can’t wait to plan another adventure with them soon!

This photos says it All!!!!!

I have been very busy at work, helping Sandi find a job, packing the house so we can get it on the market.... and have not been very good at posting lately. I am sorry and will try to get better at it. Even if it is just a few lines and a photo or two.
