One last adventure in Colorado

Last Halloween, Jack won some tunnel time at Sky Venture Colorado. He was nice enough to share with the kid (Paul purchased some for the adults!) - So on our way back to Texas we went through Denver for some indoor skydiving.

It was AMAZING!!!!! They say it is just like actual sky diving but without the shoot. I can't wait until I know for sure.

David took some amazing photos - so many that I had a hard time picking some for the blog. :)

A skiing we will go....

We set out Friday after work (in the pouring rain) for Colorado..... The trip was really quite easy due to the DVD player. What a great invention! I purchased 40+ hours of movies that the girls had not seen and it made the trip go rather quickly.... Plenty for the ride home too. :)

We spent one night in Wichita Falls & one in Pueblo, Co. and then it was on to Breckenridge for a week of fun!

We stayed in a super nice apartment at Grand Timber Lodge - right at the base of peak 9. Paul & Jen have a time share and got the accommodations for all of us. There were 12 of us staying the entire week and another 4 that flew in for just a few days.

Jack is pretty good at snow boarding!

Allie at the top of her first "Blue Run"

The Hot tub sure felt good after a hard day on the slopes!

Helen & Sharon relaxing - skiing is hard work!

David tried snow boarding but decided to stick with skiing. It came back to him rather quickly and he is already talking about planning our next ski trip. Just what we need - another hobby!

Duncan, Helen, Pierre, Skye, Paul, Allie & Dave - the last day on the slopes

Loads for fun!!

Exhausted!!!!!!!!

What a great vacation!! Amanda, Emily, Allie & I learned to ski from a great instructor - Thanks Paul!!! Allie must have paid more attention than the rest of us as she turned into quite the little skier. She is just a natural I guess.

We made some great memories with our family & good friends! Times like this are what life is all about!

What a way to make 5 bucks!

Allie has lost quite a few of her baby teeth but they have all been the small front teeth on either the top or the bottom.

Sunday Jared & Felisha were visiting and Allie kept saying she had a loose tooth. Felisha being an expert at pulling teeth pulled Allie's very first molar. It was great - no crying or anything. Well only a little crying and that was before Felisha actually tried to pull it! :)

Felisha learned a little "trick" from the school nurse that will help to pull a tooth that is ready to come out with almost no pain. The trick is using gauze. The tooth sticks to it, you gently squeeze at the gum line and out pops the tooth!

So the tooth fairy came Sunday night and Allie had $5 on Monday morning....

What do you know, Allie came home from school today with a second molar in a cute little tooth box she got from the school nurse!! I guess she is trying to put together some spending money for spring break!

Out with the old and in with the new

We purchased a new RV and are now selling our old one. You can check it out on craigslist - pass the word and there may be some bucks in it for you!!

The new one has lots more room and is really cozy. We look forward to the many "good times" camping in it with all our friends.

Happy camping... Hope to see you soon!

Sky dive or bust!!

I have been wanting to sky dive for quite sometime and I thought this would finally be the weekend. We headed to Sky Dive San Marcos on Saturday so I could do my first tandem sky dive jump. As it turns out the weather did not cooperate. It was cloudy and windy on Saturday and really windy on Sunday so no jumping for me. L I guess I have more time to talk David into jumping with me now!

The weekend was not a total loss though - we had fun visiting with Paul & Jen and eating some great chili.

Look out Austin...here she comes!!!

That's right, Amanda not only has her drivers license, but now she has a car! My Mom & Dad bought it for her.

Amanda worked last night so we had plenty of time to "hide" the car from her. When she got home my Mom & Dad gave her an early Valentine's gift which included a key chain complete with car keys. She got so excited, started jumping up and down and squealing. She could hardly keep from running when we went outside to "search" for it. She knew it was red but that was the only clue she had.

She was super excited when she found it. The fact that she would not have to adjust the seat every time she got in seemed to be the best part of all!

She and my Dad spent a while driving around getting use to the controls, gauges, etc.... All in preparation for her first solo drive to school this morning. Even with the rain she did great and got there safely!

I am both happy and sad about this. Happy because she can help me by running errands, picking up her sister from school etc; and Sad because my little baby is not so little anymore!

Just like Dad

David spent a few hours cleaning & polishing his bike Sunday before we went to watch the Superbowl with Markus & Constanze. Before I knew it Allie had her bike out and was busy cleaning it as well. She really enjoys spending good quality time with David.

She was just as careful to get every speck of dirt off her bike as her Dad was!

As Seen on TV...

I am sure you have seen the infomercials for them… “blankets with sleeves.” The Snuggie!
When Markus turned 40 in late November Eric and Lisa thought the appropriate gift was a snuggie… We all laughed when he opened it and I really didn’t give it much more thought. That was not until I was given a neatly wrapped belated birthday gift from Eric & Lisa… You guessed it, a snuggie. But not just any snuggie, a leopard print one. Not sure if there is some underlying “cougar” dig there or not. :)

Well Amanda and Allie have been fighting over it with the recent cold weather. They love the way you can wrap up and still use your arms! It has turned out to be a great gift – Thanks Eric & Lisa.
I also received these other great gifts from friends & family – A Hooters gift card, silver earrings, a massage from Massage Envy and lot of lotions & bath products.

Thanks so much to everyone for making my 40th birthday a very special one.

Now the real work begins….

We sold our house; rather quickly too considering this market, and are to close on it very soon.

Now we are frantically sorting, throwing away, giving away, packing and storing all of our stuff. It is amazing how much stuff one family can accumulate in just a few short years. David and I cleaned out the attic and found more to throw-out than to actually keep! We took two trucks and a trailer load to stuff to the trash collection last weekend. Even with that, we have a storage unit that is bulging full!

Although we will miss some of our neighbors, we are excited to move on with the next part of our life.

"Viewers like you"... # 2

Another "viewer" for you all to "meet"....

Nina & Tobias - from Germany. It looks a little cold there - with the snow covered trees in the background. Try to keep warm! Can't wait to see you on your next visit to Texas.
